Who we are
Bluebird’s Hope is a community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing forensic nursing examinations to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, strangulation, domestic violence, and/or human trafficking. Established in 2020, our mission revolves around delivering education and forensic examination services to communities throughout Texas, with a particular focus on underserved and rural areas.
Sexual assault is a widespread issue affecting millions of Americans each year. Shockingly, statistics show that, on average, someone in the United States experiences sexual assault approximately every 68 seconds. This problem is particularly pronounced in Texas, where 2 in 5 women and 1 in 5 men have been victims of sexual assault. The repercussions of sexual assault are profound, often resulting in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), an increased likelihood of suicidal thoughts, and a heightened susceptibility to substance abuse. Additionally, victims face the added risks of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).1
Getting victims the help they need is the first step in recovery.
At Bluebird’s Hope, we offer comprehensive forensic medical examinations to victims at absolutely no cost. Our services include ensuring victims receive appropriate medical care for any injuries sustained, providing the option for photographic and biological evidence collection, and connecting victims with trained counselors to begin the healing process.
If you or someone you know has been a victim of one of these crimes, please get them the help they need today.
